YELLOW REFLECTION
First contact — the ocean tests which version of the self is real.
A sudden field of yellow light. The body begins to double. Face and figure overlap, dissolve, reappear — as if the intelligent ocean is testing which version of the self is real.
Red silhouettes cut through skin like thoughts that never belonged to the person who thinks them. This is the first contact: the precise moment when consciousness realises it is being observed by something older and more lucid than itself — and, in the same instant, starts observing itself through the ocean's eyes.
The emotion is pure recognition. Sharp. Silent. Almost physical.
