TERRA NOSTRA

A project at the intersection of eco-art, Mixed Media performance, and analog photography. The series explores the sacred bond between the human body and the landscape through the lens of self-reflection. Utilizing a wild field, a mirror, and red film, the authors create a visual code of returning to the roots. The central technique—double exposure—dissolves the boundaries between the Self and the Earth, transforming the human figure into a living extension of the scenery. It is a meditation on roots, environmental vulnerability, and origin.

“In the 'Terra Nostra' collaboration, Yulia Pazukhina and I return to the most honest form of dialogue with nature. We deliberately rejected digital manipulation in favor of manual, analog alchemy. The field, wild herbs, a mirror, and red film are our tools for seeking our own reflection within the landscape’s DNA. The double exposure technique allows us to sprout through the frame, turning the body into roots and skin into the field. It is a manifesto on eco-reflection, asserting that each of us is an extension of the earth we stand upon, and a statement of our collective vulnerability, wrapped in a poignant red cocoon.”
